Well, I would first say the idea is to enhance your eyes. I think actually though, if used correctly, the idea is to give the impression of larger or smaller eyes depending on what you are looking for. For example, if you have really wide set eyes typical of Asian women, then sometimes the eyeliner can make the eyes look closer set. I have seen make-up artists do amazing things w/it. I would think you need to get a lesson from someone who is in the make-up industry. Most people use way too much make-up which makes them have a really harsh look. Even though there is a huge market for eye liner, the truth is that black is not great on everyone. Neither is blue, purple, green, etc. ALL make-up is suppose to enhance your natural beauty, not draw attention to yourself. I would say if you do not know what it is for you may be better off not using it! Go to a cosmetics counter at a dept. store or salon and get tips on how to use it to best enhance your personal features according to skin tone, eye color, and the shape of your face. Some of the prettiest, freshest looking faces out there don't even use eye liner. According to most fashion magazines right now, the perfect face has just a touch of blush, some mascara, and a lip tint. The best part? All of that will fit in your purse, and save you tons of time in front of the mirror!

Or to be placed on the face in such a way that it would have everyone thinking when they look at your face .. Like you just said ?"H`mM`h;?
