Yes, I think he should be in the HOF. 3000 hits is quite an accomplishment. Being an Astros fan for over 30 yrs, I've watched many players come and go. He's the most underrated 2B ,but the hardest working one there is. His numbers speak for themselves. A classy player who I've watched and admired for many years. Many people forget that he started his career as a catcher then moved to 2B and then to OF. He was asked to move back to 2B to help the team get back to having one of the best defensive infields which helped them to the World Series in 2004. He deserves to be in the HOF and should be elected on 1st ballot, but most likely will be on 2nd ballot instead. Too many players will make it before him right now on 1st ballot.

No. I love the guy, and he has a great, long career. But the HOF should be reserved for the best of the best. Biggio never really had several league leading seasons or anything. If he had won 2-3 batting titles to go along with his other stats, I would say yes. I think Jeff Bagwell actually has a better shot at it.

I can't believe anybody still asks this question.
Besides 3000 hits, he has 286 HR, 413 sb, 1822 runs scored 4 gold gloves, silver slugger at catcher and 2b.
If you look at who his closest comparisans are, they're HOFs--- Morgan, Yount, Molitor and a future HOF in Alomar.
Consistent excellence, historic numbers, willingness to play whereever needed, with the added benefit of being a great example of good sportsmanship.

Great player for an extended span of seasons.
One of the two best (along with Alomar) second basemen of his era.
Call the minter in a few years.

Of course he does! 3,000 hits in a career is one of the hardest things to do...and is an automatic first ballot shoe-in!

I think so, if not for his 3000 hits then for the fact that part of those hits were as a catcher.
