1981 xr 100 won't run right?

Question

I have a 1981 xr100/xl100 and it run but if you trie to give it gas it will bogg then pick up or if you bare give it any gas it will run okay

check the ignition timing
if that doesn,t do it then carb
screw the top of the carb off where the throttle cable goes in remove the slide there is a needle in the center that has a clip on it move the clip down 1 notch (shorten the needle)
put it back together and try it
the slide has an angle cut on it when you put it back in the angle goes toward the airbox

Check the compression.
It might need piston & rings + cylinder bore.
When you give it gas, the explosion in the combustion chamber blows past the rings, causing it to bog.
When you give it gas slowly, the explosion isn't strong enough to blow past the rings and slowly accelerate up to speed..
Check the air cleaner and valve adjustment.
