In what context? As a rabble-rousing troublemaker? As a God? As something in between? Hmmm...

Historically it seems there was a man who many now refer to as Jesus Christ who had some influence in the Jerusalem area about 2000 years ago. There is a lot of question regarding his actual name and status; the records of that time are fragmented and incomplete at best.

Presuming he did exist, it appears he was a thorn in the side of the established religious body of the day (the Jews), as well as being quite irritating to the the occupying Roman forces and their provisional government. They decided the best way to deal with his interference was to label him a trouble-maker and execute him in a manner common for the day, crucifixion.

Though he was a minor player at that time he has been elevated to the status of a god by the Catholics and other "Christian" style churches over the years. As to whether he was a simple trouble-maker or a God, that's a matter of one's personal faith and not a verifiable fact by any means.

I believe he existed. I believe he was a teacher that was needed at the time. Too bad we didn't study harder.
