independants, are people who have many varied views.
which is a good thing, until their canidate causes the best of the other two parties to lose.
many of them are people who are a little left of the right-wing extremist who call themselves conservatives, and have been denounced as libs by their extremist counterparts.
independants though are usually moderates, that prefer to exclude themseves from partisan bickering caused by extremists on both sides of the isle.
You will find that independants are made up of many liberals and conservatives, who have just had enough of the extremism, that is being promoted by fanatics on talk shows.
they prefer to consider the issue, rather than the party, like any other moderates on either side of the isle.
the biggest belief, that hold independants together as a whole, are their beliefs that the government should answer to the majority, not the elite minority. This is what usually leads them away from the two main parties, to become independants. They are just tired of corporate ownership of the democrats and republicans, and our government being run by lobbyists, which is also the biggest reason extreme right-wingers call them liberals....their voting records that do not show big business favoritism.

I believe we cannot call ourselves the greatest nation on the face of the earth while we have citizens with no health care. I believe health care should be not for profit, that would be a giant step in cutting costs. Electronic filing systems and patient records to cut the redundancy of paper-work. Get the insurance industry out of health care. There is no "free" health care, we all need to give something. Have a built in tax on something all Americans use, energy, water, trash collection or a percentage taken out of your pay, an automatic payroll deduction based on your net pay for individuals and net profit for corporations on a sliding scale. There are ways, I don't have all the answers but I'm willing to give to help out other Americans. If we don't take care of us, who will? We'll all get old, we'll all get sick. How do you look at your child and say, sorry kiddo, I can't afford the doctor? All we really need to do is care about one another and we'll find a way to make it work.

How about affordable health care.
The government could cap what health Ins. companies charge low & working class families. Thus making it private but affordable. I never stradel the fince on any issue I just don't believe any one side has all the answers.

That's the thing about being an Independent, you can have liberal views, and conservative views. You straddle the fence, so to speak, on issues.
