So far, there are 2 teams who top the title collection list of Champions League (formerly known as Champions Cup), i.e. Real Madrid (9 titles) and AC Milan (7 titles).
But many of Madrid's titles were achieved long time ago, when football was not as competitive as now. Now football has become a promising industry, every game in CL can be a fierce battlefield. In this sense, AC Milan in my opinion offer better prospect, at least in the near future. They were very strong and consistent these last few years, meanwhile Real Madrid are still busy with internal problem. I think Madrid have too many concerns: winning titles, playing beautiful game, and selling jersey. I don't think they can manage it. When their management said 'fans want attractive football', which fans did they mean? As far as I know, the most exciting things in football are victory and goals. Even the ugliest victory is still more beautiful than attractive defeat. And if your team win trophies, fans will buy your jersey, am I right? Unfortunately, they sacked good coach like Capello. It's not bad for Capello, it's bad for Madrid.

It's clearly AC Milan dude!!! They have made three finals, two of them being in three years alone, won it twice, and as far as i'm aware, that's the most for any team.
Liverpool have had a good run in with it all though, also making two finals in the space of three years, winning and then loosing it to Milan.
As far as I know, Real Madrid are the overall leaders in history to win The European trophy, an amazing 9 times!!!
AC Milan and Liverpool are just behind Real Madrid with Milan at 7 times and Liverpool at 5 times, but that is as much as I know on that one sorry. LOL

AC Milan, Liverpool and Real Madrid have won it the most times. But Manchester United and FC Barcelona have made the most appearances in the group stages. But both FC Barcelona and Manchester United have only won it once since the new format started.
Barcelona won it last year when the defeated Arsenal 2-1 in Paris.
Manchester United beat Bayern Munich courtesy of two late goals in 199 at the Camp Nou.

Both AC Milan and Real Madrid won three titles since 1992, but in recent years Milan have been more dominant. Over the last five seasons, they were never knocked out before quarterfinals and they reached three finals in which they won two titles. Real Madrid on the other hand did not manage to get to the quarterfinals over the last three seasons.

Real Madrid have NOT dominated the champions league(old style european cup maybe)..most consistant and probally the team most teams fear would have to be AC Milan
