If you are trying to call cairo the code for Cairo is 2 and recently most centrals have upgraded their numbers to an 8 digit format so you should add either a 2 or a 4 before the old 7 digit number.
So calling a number in Cairo from the UK should look like this
+ 20 - 2 - 2 (or4) - seven digit old number

trust me, it is 002. then if u are calling Cairo u add 02. But if u r calling Alexandria u add 03 etc. In Cairo many phone numbers now have 2 or 4 before the original number.
