Simon D just made a stereotypical comment about the Irish doing nothing but being drink and disorderly. Does everyone think that? i am irish and i don't know anyone whos like that and i live in Ireland!

I don't think that way either, my family came from Ireland many years ago and there is not one alcoholic in my family, it is just that people like to stereotype.

No, what you heard is a stereotype. Its sad that people still believe them. I dont think all Irish people are drunks, in fact I would like to go to Ireland someday!

Most people just joke about it. It's like Jewish people being cheap, or French people being lovers, or Polish people being dumb. Most people don't take it seriously. I'm Irish-American myself and just got back from Ireland. Gotta admit, I spent a lot of time in the pubs and had one helluva good time.

How old are you? The older Irish men/woman love to drink. To be disorderly - I would have to say yes, they just like their booze, and having fun, 'til someone get's in their face.

1/4 irish here. irish have a higher percentage of alcholism, so so indian ppl. sucks to be us but there ya go. on a side note i dont drink either who wants to drink get drunk puke and go to sleep? thats no fun at all.

People who are intelligent don't buy into stereotypes.
I consider myself intelligent also I know quite a few Irish people and they don't sit around getting drunk.

this is coming from an 100% irish person. they talk about getting drunk but never do. my grandfather, when ever something happens like his anniversary, he talks about getting drunk and never does.
