Well, just curious what the mass opinion of this subject it. They just brought up a curfew on the local mall, story - http://www.roanoke.com/news/roanoke/wb/122638, not really going to affect me. But it feels as if they are punishing the majority for an action by a few. Just figure I'll take my business elsewhere, shop somewhere else; where I'm welcome that is. So...what's your opinion on banning teens under 18 from the mall past 6 p.m. w/o a guardian/parent?

Same idea behind gun control.

Teens don't know what's best for them.
They need sleep because they are still growing.
They need sleep so they can be ready to learn at school.
I don;t see the problem with curfews.

(Dont right this off as a grumpy adult who was obviously never a kid, I'm 15)

However, I think 6 is a bit early. If I were the store owners, I would move it to 8PM, only on school nights, and only while school is in session. Weekends and summer is fair game for us to get all the staying up late and being roudy out of us...

Business have to protect their investments and police have to protect citizens...Bottomline. These types of stories are not new. I would say that the city probably have a squatting or loitering ordinance anyhow. So in all actuality there were laws in place before the curfew.

I feel for the teens because most of them probably weren't the cause but it is the bad apples that ruin the bunch.

Totally overkill. Why punish everyone just because of a couple morons? Deal with problems case by case instead of having a blanket rule that punishes well-behaved teenagers.

If they are going this route due to the events of what they described than I agree with them. Kids do not know how to control themselves apparently and need their mommies and daddies with them to show them how to control themselves. The main thing is that the adults who shop there will have a more comfortable shopping experience.

I think it is within their right to do so. I also think it is the parents that should be punished, not just the kids, when a teen screws up.

Super idea. Ban whiney children who are with their parents too.
