did Willie Mays lead the National League in RBI for the season?

NL only, not the entire majors.

He never led the NL, much less MLB, in RBI in any season.

He was 2nd in 1955 and 1962.

He was a run producer. He was in the NL's top 10 in RBI twelve different times.

He was on good teams with good lineups so guys like Willie McCovey and Orlando Cepeda knocked in runs for him.

Mays played in over 150 games for 13 consecutive years, (a major-league record) from 1954 to 1966, his last 100-RBI season. That season, he finished 3rd in the NL MVP voting. It was the ninth and final time he finished in the top 5 in the voting for the award.

Zero.

Never finished higher than second, never closer than -8 behind the NL leader.
