They are KIDS and do not have a good understanding on how the world works yet.
And you are wrong - my son's school took a poll and they know this is a just war. They are not against it per se...EVERYONE would like the world to live in peace...that's just not our reality right now.

Our country as the only true superpower left should have done the right thing from the beginning. It is not our job to overthrow unjust governments, as a member of the U.N we should have imposed strict sanctions and had total control of the U.N. forces. What our King Bush did was over throw a government destroyed a country's infrastructure and start a civil war that could rage for decades or longer the only thing that needs our support is the troops over there now fighting a war that never should have been. If blame is to be laid you put it at Bush's lap that is were the buck and the blood stops.

You over generalize.

There are lots of reasons why kids would not support war.

1. They do not understand the stakes.
2. They listen to the liberal run teachers at government run schools. If you think there is no bias, remember this, there has never been a time the teachers union supported a Republican for president.
3. They listen to the old mainstream media who rewrite history.
4. Proper history is not taught in schools. We lost more than double the soldiers on D Day at Normandy than we have so far here.

Most kids in High school are used to listening to their teachers. 90% of teachers in the U.S. are liberal and hate conservatives and the GOP. Once you get out in the real world, you can see both sides and make up you own mind. War is a sad, but sometimes needed part of life. No sane person wants it. But if it has to be done, get it done, support the men and women putting their lives on the line, and hopefully make the world a better place. Don't forget that if we weren't forcing the terrorists to fight in Iraq, we'd be fighting them here at home. Remember 9-11? almost as many innocent americans died in that one terrorsit attack, as have soldiers died in 3 years of fighting in Iraq. I'm not saying that's a good thing, just trying to put it in perspective. If you want to know about the war, talk to the soldiers returning on leave. Don't listen to arm chair quarterbacks.
By the way, good question. Keep asking, it's the way to learn more.

If high schools and colleges are as I suspect, much more liberal, I know mine were, which is primarily why I was a very liberal democrat in my high school and early college years...it is no wonder that kids will believe what their teachers tell them, since also "generally," kids are lazy and won't do the research themselves. It's easy to hop on the bandwagon of liberal ideals, since liberalism is generally a very emotion based ideology...and kids are hormonal and in those years, very emotional.

Also, highschool kids generally know concerning politics what is filtered through whatever opinions the teacher has, or whatever ideology the celebrities they idolize happen to champion...trendy, cliquish as they are, and often only take to heart what is taught to them by people they like. Rebellion against any ideas that are conservative are what it means to be a teenager in America anyway. I know for a fact that I wasn't concerned with politics until I was out of college and started paying more taxes, and actually paid close attention to the overwhelming negativity, absurd ideas and contradictions in the MSM, along with a steady decrease in integrity and credibility in the reporting that was contrary to the reality of day to day life as I knew it.

I suspect that many high school and college kids who are liberal now, will, once standing on their own, and being responsible to the government with their hard earned money, will surely take notice that government was not made to "run" our lives with social programs and not hamper creativity and growth, and smother entrepreneurs with detrimental social programs that only create a class of government dependents, but to serve us, and protect our way of life...that we decide where our taxes are to be spent, how our states are run, and how long a politician stays in office based on their satisfying our requirements with less government bureaucracy, not more. I pray they will become more conservative as I did.

Probably, because they just got their notice in the mail, that they have not signed up for selective service yet, or looked at their financial aid application for college and realize that you have to sign up to get loans for college.
When you are faced with the reality, that there is a possibility that you or a loved one may be put in harms way, many people tend to oppose the idea.

I like your question as well.
Someone here hit it on the head. Most teachers are liberal. Mostly because they want the funding. Its amazing the most educated people cant see right for wrong.
Doesn't it amaze you how the democratic party represents love and peace and all they do is spew hate?!

For the simple reason that they may have to go if it drags on, & it should have been over ALONG time ago. I mean look at our technology. Politicians (both sides of the aisle) dont give a horses patoot, because all they seem to be interested in is spending our hard earned tax dollars on bull crap.

If nuthing else, I say bomb em back to the stone ages.
