I am completely overwhelmed by hundreds of fabric stores that aren't quite for me. I need fabrics that you might see in a Bottega Veneta or Emporio Armani collection, but I can only seem to find everyday fabrics. There's nothing wrong with everyday fabrics, I just need an upgrade. Where in LA or online would I be able to get high quality fabrics? Expense is no problem.

As a costume designer, I can really relate to what you are saying. I have gone to San Francisco and Las Vegas out of desperation. However, there are some that meet our specifications.

F&S on Pico. (310-475-1637) They have fabrics (including designer stuff) for upholstery, clothing, you name it. They're not the cheapest but they have a great selection.

You can also try Diamond Foam and Fabric on La Brea (323-931-8148). A friend swears by them but I have not been there personally.
