Ummmm because his genre of music is considered R&B and just in case you don't know, we Black people like Robin Thicke. He also writes and produce many songs for other Black musicians. That's why he was on the BET awards.

funny, the OLD BET used to embrace us all dark and light. They used to show singers and rappers and educational programs. I actually like the gospel on sundays. It's only one day out of the week, so it's fine by me. I like Robin Thicke, Christina Auguilera and Teena Marie. Justin Timberlake put on one hell of a concert when he was on tour in Madison Square Garden. But anyway Ayita if you want to all the specturums of black music and black culture you have to watch TVone, BET J, or VH1 soul. ADD-as for the Awards, they were decent, alot better than they have been in the past. My hightlights would be Neyo, Keyshia Cole and Monica, Maxwell, Janet Jackson, and Drake.

Everybody on BET doesnt have to be Black because the network isnt for exclusively Black people. BET stands for Black Entertainment Televison, Not entertainer. That means artist that entertain Black people not only Black artists The Black community accepted his music and put him on the charts because the genre he is catagorized in is supported primarily by Black people. Why would he exclude himself from his fans. Anyway white people are the only ones that exclude people based on their color
