Yes, a steamer cleaner does a good job at removing water from carpet and pad. This is only after the standing water is removed with a shopvac or pump. A steam cleaner can do the whole job, however the tank is usually so small that you spend more time emptying it than you do filling it.

Yes. Some friends of mine from church their toilet busted,water went all over the place. The water backed up into the carpet in their living room. They borrowed my steam cleaner and it was perfect to get the water out of the carpet. It will take a few times to get all the water out of the carpet. Also make sure plenty of air stirring so your carpet can dry. It will mildew if not dried completely.

yes it can just use the suction on the cleaner don't spray in liquid just run the extraction mold and you should be able to remove 95%of the water,it will work for you we have done it ourselves

If your where they have walmarts..you can get a wet vac now days for about 24.00 to 29.00 dolars..you will pay that out RENTING a steamer unless you have access to a free one...Wet vac you will have something left over to show for it..and it has many uses. You do not want them little 1 gallon ones, get at least a three gallon.
