For a short time the paint would diffuse the lux measurment of the bulb , however did you know you can now purchase a Black light bulb this is not a bulb that is coloured Black it is a bulb that produces light at the Ultraviolet wavelength cool yeah .. Oh and the bulb just happens to be black . and when it on every particle of dust and dirt in the room shows up white and your knickers shine through your trousers

Yes you walls will be covered in soot having set fire to the room.
The colour of the paint is completely irrelevant.
If the paint lets light through, the room will be brighter with the light on. If it doesn't let light through it won't, it will just explode. When it explodes it may blow a central fuse turning off any other lights, t.v. etc. making the room darker.

no it wouldn't make the room darker once the bulb heats up the paint will crack and the light will shine through, not even spray paint works! leave the light off if you want a dark room...

No :(
unless you can get hold of the paint they use on the spy planes ...
Your best bet for a cheap solution is to put the lightbulb into a vacuum cleaner, then turn on the vacuum cleaner. The suction will now pull light as well as dust into the vacuum cleaner and that will result in the room getting gradually darker.
Be careful not to dazzle yourself when emptying the bag though!

Not really, but just buy an already colored one because once the light bulb gets hot it will start to smell really bad. If you do, do this make sure it's not flammable paint, cause you might cause an explosion.

Yes it does make the room darker.
Unfortunately though, when the paint heats up it smells really bad! You won't put up with it!
Buy a coloured bulb!

yes i imagine it would, but it wouldn't be very safe. why do you want to paint your light bulb black??? if you want your room black then don't turn the light on or if that is to tempting then don't put a light bulb in.
