I am wondering where the saying exactly originated from and what is the meaning. I am trying not to intellectualize it too much, but I am very interested in the saying origin details. I hear my younger family members saying it and have seen it around. I would appreciate any answers and sources you may have.

I take the Star Wars reference like hudson64 mentioned.

If you have a low/no ability to resist (chocolate) cookie cravings like me the saying takes on a whole new meaning. Ugh.

Sorry, I don't have any sources for the saying.

In Star Wars, Luke was encouraged to cross over to the dark side, and the offer was 'together we will rule the galaxy' or something equally grandiose.

If you expect that 'We have cookies' is going to make someone come to the dark side, then their integrity must be low, or their greed high :)

Umm... my friend has an icon that says that on Myspace...I always associate it with Harry Potter! But it makes no sense. Another one like that is: Come to the dark side, we're sparkly!: That one is DIRECTLY pointed towards Harry Potter. I like it tho...its funny!!
