I have heard you can earn prizes by doing certain things in the park or by giving something to a cast member..... someone want to help me out and tell me what you have to do? Specifically, I want ones that you do in the magic kingdom. Thanks!

Go to that shop on Main Street that sells those Mickey Ears hats.. when you buy one they will embroider your name on it for free. Instead of your name get them to stitch "winner" on it. Then be at the flag pole in front of the train station at EXACTLY 12 noon. I can't tell you which one, but you will win a prize.

There really isn't anything you can do, if you are referring to their current celebration "Year of a Million Dreams" In order to prevent problems, Disney made the whole thing so it could be ran by computers. Basically, the computer will randomly pick a location and spot where the cast member is supposed to then go and tell that person what they one.
So, it really is just a matter of being in the right place at the right time. A lot of people think they can wear shirts that say pick me and all that, but it won't help you, you just have to be where the castmember ends up.
There are a lot of different prices they are giving away, the biggest in Disney World is probably the nights stay in the castle, even though there are many other rather larger prizes as well. The most common thing they giveaway is the dream fastpass, which means you get to have fastpass for the rides all day.

I was at the Magic Kindom last week when a cast member gave someone an all-day FastPass card. I overheard the cast member saying that he gave it away for "making him laugh, and being in a happy mood" This was at Stiches Laugh Factory show. I also heard him say that they only give away 3 per day in Tomorrowland.

just an update as for the mickey ears to put a name on the back it now costs $2 bucks...lame i know.
as for getting prizes im a cast member at the magic kingdom and its honestly the right place at the right time. im not part of dream squad (which does the free passes and what not and trips) but i just get to talking to guests and if its an anniversary or birthday or they are just plain nice, i use my magic and get them discounts or free fastpasses, or whatnot. its fun and if they really arent expecting it its even more fun for me. the guests that come up to me and demand a gift or somethign ....um do you think im really going to chose you?
go have fun be yourself and be on the lookout too! but if any 'magic' happens it will be when you least expect it and not paying attention to your surroundings.. so just have fun!!!

the year of a million dreams in completely random (sorry all you folks with other answers)
there is a "dream team" but they are told where to go and who to pick such as the 4th person on the 3rd car of the train.. etc.. they look to see who it is and then give that person a prize.

I do not know what you can do, we were standing in line at Winnie the Pooh and a gentleman walked up to my son and asked, Do You Like Pooh? My son said yes he is my favorite, the gentleman handed him a 40 dollar coupon for the store attached to the ride. We were just standing in line.
