Is this a documentery or a propaganda movie? Is there any attempt allowed by Mr. Moore to give anyone a chance to refute his slant on this issue? Gee, 2008 election coming up, big issue when Hillary(oops I meant Bill),came into office. Would anyone trust the government having more power in this issue than they already do? Do I want to have 70 or 80
percent of my income taken from me to support a big fat slob to get a gastric bypass, or some snibbling hypochondriac to go to the doctor every time they have an ache or pain? Sorry Mr Moore, take your Socialism to China or Cuba. I live in a city where I have access to some of the best healthcare in the world. The only way you will really be denied access to healthcare is to not pay your bill.Gee, if you stay in school and get a good job, you can get good healthcare and the government hasn't given me a thing.Could it be that if you act responsibly you can get what you want and not need to whine to the government for it?

Yep....things are great. The low end of the middle class are the ones losing health care right now because prices are going up due to the poor people getting essentially free care (because they cant pay the bills) that has to be paid for by the rich, the hospitals, and the insurance companies! Great system! I cant wait to see where it goes in another 20 years.
By the way, it feels wonderful to be in the low end of the middle class where I know Im locked into my job, cant change careers or anything because there is no way in hell I could afford health insurance for a few months during a transition. I love the way things are now! It feels great to be in the middle getting screwed from both ends! Heck, we've still go two hands free, we can take more screwing!

I think he has some very valid points. I work for a county-run hospital in a major city in the US that provided a record $200 million in free care this year. Many people in the surounding community cannot afford health insurance. They use the emergency room for primary care, which costs at least twice as much as seeing a doctor. Not all people in the US have the opportunity to get a good education and good jobs!!

I saw it yesterday is a crowded theater in a very conservative town. (But I doubt many people who call themselves conservative will see it) The audience applauded at the end. Documentaries are by definition the film maker's point of view. There is no requirement that they be fair and balanced and Moore makes no claim to telling both sides of the story. He is telling the story he wants told. But he did not make it up. What he shows in the essential truth of the situation. 50 million uninsured and for those that are insured they routinely find out the system is designed to not pay. The rewards of the system are in not paying or making someone else pay, not in making you well and whole.
But he tells this fascinating story in a very entertaining way. In the end their are two indictments - One against the medical and pharmaceutical industries for engineering this mess, (where the game plan is to collect your premiums but not pay for medical care). The other against the people for allowing it to happen. He is definitely for socialized medicine, but he does not blame the government for the lack of it.

Those of use that work in healthcare... specifically in the underserviced populations know first hand how great the disparities truly are in this country.
I thought I knew prior to becoming a Primary Care Provider... but I truly had no idea.
Yet, I expect to be surprised even more by whatever tales he is to present.
He may be a little in your face about things. But it is obvious that in this country, there is a little too much conformity. It seems to take a sledgehammer to kill a mosquito here.
For those of you that think that he is exagerating things.
I guarantee you he is not!

So glad you got health care but what about the 43 million Americans who don't you selfish jerk, by the way you do know America ranks 37th in the world on health care don't you? You do know that Medicare is the most EFFICIENTLY run health management system we have don't you? You do know not everyone can get that good education don't you? What you don't want the girl who does your dry cleaning to be healthy, how about the guy who buses your table at the restaurant, or the one who keeps your suburban lawn looking so good, you are basically saying screw my fellow Americans aren't you you TRAITOR!

it's not about whining, its about not having the means to provide health insurance for yourself. some people, believe it or not, live in conditions that you would find repugnant, but you would tell them "you should have stayed in school, now youre f*cked, so long!" personally, i find not helping people sick, its an awful thing to do.

Their are many less fortunate than you and when I hear people like you complain and accuse the poor for being poor and the sick for being sick, I'm glad I'm not your neighbor.

Dude, even third world countries have universal health care but some how you neocons still believe that insurance companies have your best interests
It is not only about who has insurance but about the fact that these companies refuse to pay your medical bills when you most need it. So if you think you got insurance, just don't get surprised if they don't pay up when the time comes.
