I love stories with good strong alpha male characters and the best of all is Gabriel Allon from Daniel Silva's books. Gabriel is an Israeli assassin and one of the top three art restorers in the world. His adventures as an Israeli operative have included tracking down terrorists beginning with those responsible for the Olympic massacre. As an art restorer, he specializes in Old Masters and Christian art. Daniel Silva is a former CNN correspondent and he knows his stuff. The books are amazingly well researched and beautifully written. Gabriel is a complex person who has dealt with personal tragedy as well and he brings it all to these stories that teach as well as entertain. A new one comes out July 24. I think that will make 7. If you are interested in books like The Da Vinci Code that combine history, art and suspense - these books are incredible.

Other great alpha male characters are Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch, Nelson de Mille's John Corey and Steve Berry's Cotton Malone. Read them all! Pax - C
