Th R some black, & one latin program; but, most all the shows are of white families. Isn't that racist? Like in the military, all the authority ranks R whites, and every one in office is white; yeah, one or two aren't; but, it's still RACIST, isn't it?
Now they're going to say bad things & that this is racist, simply because I stated a fact. Regardless to what is said, what I stated proves that non-whites are being excluded from the wealth, authority and the decision making. There is no reason why TV shows should not be of other ethnic families. It would B best to see military & government representatives of other ethinsity desucsing the issues that pertain to other ethnic groups, as oppose to the people that say things like, they aren't from here, discussing the issues; when in fact their foreign countries don't use U.S. currency, they need passports to get in and out of their country, they're people that came here and commited a holocaust on the Indians & others.

I'll respond the television question because I really don't understand the military part--too girly here.
When I turn on my tele, the first group of people I see are usually whites. I'd say 2/10 commercials have a least one or two people of other backgrounds in them. And that's hardly equal. I won't say networks are racist but, they do need a wake up call. America is steadily growing with diversity and it's time that the entertainment world starts catering to everyone, more than they already are.
Still, there has been progress. Each network channel has at least one all black/Spanish, cast show instead of the cliche all white cast with the token black girl or guy. And even though, the shows may not last because the people aren't showing support by watching the show. I've seen several great non-white t.v. shows can celled because of low ratings. Some of us talk about getting more shows for us and 50% if the time, were' supporting the wrong one.
Flavor of Love, I for one loathe this show, disrespecting women of color on national t.v. But, these are most of the shows that last rather then the better ones. It's progress on both sides that needs to take place. Unfortunately, the younger generations watch most television today and their interest are into such things like Flavor of Love and other pointless shows. But, I do understand where you're coming from. That's why I just stick to my DVD's for the most part.

You're wrong when it comes to the Military. My husband is in the Military and there are many, many black men and women who are Officers. Believe what you want, but everyone has the opportunity to advance in the Military, and a black person can enter the Military as an Officer as long as they have a Bachelors Degree, the same requirements for white people! My husband has been in for 22 years, I've been married to him for ten of those years, and I can't count the CO's, XO's, and EMO's he's had that have been black.
As far as t.v. shows, I think it would be nice to see a show that have both blacks and white on it. It's always one or the other. I have seen plenty of "Black" t.v. shows that I like. My Wife And Kids, Cosby Show, Wayne's Brothers, Cuts, All Of Us....ETC. I know some of these are off the air, and it's a shame because they were funny shows. But I don't watch a show because of the color of the actor's skin!

I don't think it is intended to be aimed at just white people. Tv is in the business of making money, if there is a market for them to put more non white people on tv, they will fill that market. Money. It has no other objective than to make money. If you are serious about what you are claiming you should find a way to petition the channels about your concerns. You may want to stress the desire to achieve diversity rather than saying why isn't there more black people or chinese people on tv. Get my point?
Oh, I'm sorry, I thought your question was about TV not about the history of the US. Get over it man, learn to live in the now. Carrying on about the atrocoties committing throughout time are not going to get anybody to give you much credence to your concerns about TV. Keep is simple.
I just realized how lame our sports would be if they had to erase all the black people in football and basketball. NBA finals would look like a pick up game in the suburbs.

Actually.... our tv is about the most NON racist tv in the world. If you go ANYWHERE else, you'll see 100% of the ppl being the same race. In American tv, at least we have different races. If you go to other countries, ull see the majority of the country and nothing else. THINK ABOUT THAT!

I don't think the shows themselves are racist, I do think though there should be much variety of the ethnicity's we see, I would like to see a lot more African-American shows(including ones that are not comedy based), Hispanic shows, and many more Asian shows. Asians are the least seen on television. It would only be racist if the channel producers deliberately only put white people on there because they don't like other ethnicity's. I just think that most show producers with shows that are mostly based on the lives of white people, don't do it intentionally, they just subconsciously keep putting on white people.

I didn't commit a holocaust on anybody. I'm white, and I might be on Black Entertainment Television. The biggest name in daytime TV is Oprah Winfrey. You have a point, but you are still wrong.

I don't have to call you a racist when you're doing such a stellar job of declaring it yourself and you are NOT simply stating a fact.
What you stated was an opinion and an ill-informed one at that.
How can you be expected to be taken seriously when you spout ignorant garbage?
There are shows that are all black and many that are integrated. Get your head out of your butt.
And who are you calling 'they're' as in 'they're going to say bad things'? Who's 'they're'???? Don't expect to make a statement like that and not get responses.

I've seen lots of blacks on TV and in government.
The current US Attorney General is Hispanic.
The previous Secretary for Veterans was Hispanic.
What about Condi Rice, a black female who currently serves as Secretary of State, 4th in line for the White House.
Then there is Colin Powell who was Chairman of Joint Chiefs and he served somewhere else in Government after that.
You are woefully ignorant of the facts.

actually it's not racist. it just happens to be the majority of actors, directors, writers and people in power are white. being part of a majority does not mean you are a bigot. more and more people of different skin are stepping up to the plate and that is a good thing. those positions are there for the taking. so why not take some action to change things, because complaining doesn't do anything?
