Because as an American Citizen , I think they would pretty much roast me over the coals if I stole someone else's.
You Mexicans think you have it bad ....try being a legal citizen . You would probably last 5 minutes under laws that are only meant to be accountable towards you .

I don't think much of anything. If their employer says the numbers don't wash all they do is fire them. I know many of the raids are a result of using others SS#s because people have been having problems like not being able to qualify for something because it says they're working at some place they've never been. Some are deported as a result of that but there hasn't been any law suits as such because they won't tell you who's using your number. I know quite a few people who would love to see some action taken against the ones who caused such an uproar in their lives. I heard of a case down south somewhere where a person was collecting someones social security payments. I don't think nearly enough is being done. It's identity theft. You or I would be in jail. Sometimes I don't think they get that it's alot more than just a number to get a job. It costs alot of time and money to try and get the damage fixed. I find it crazy to think we have to pay some company to secure our identies or pay people to help fix things and they just walk.

Doubtful.
Though they may be arrested, currently, local police are PROHIBITED from inquiring about ones 'status'
If they are found to be illegal, somehow, they may face deportation.
However, the vast majority DO NOT show up for deportation hearings.

Judging by the answers so far, this country is in serious trouble.

For the person who asked 'what do you have against Mexico?'

Well, for one thing the Mexican government is aiding the INVASION of MY country by unskilled, illiterate, diseased CRIMINALS. That's WHAT!

This guideline for politicians should be at least one among the top five for achieving successful governance: If you would pass a law, provide the means for ENFORCING that law at the same time.

If not, forget it.

ummmmm, is it that time of the month? what has Mexico PERSONALLY done to you that you equate all as one?
as an American citizen I am HORRIFIED over some of what has been done in my name around the world....
try taking your head out of your own private little comfortable world and looking around at those less fortunate and feel some compassion. Why do you think you are any better than any one else? have you ever gone faster than the speed limit? ever tasted a grape at the grocery store and then not bought any? ever lied to protect a loved ones feelings? ever considered someone else entitled to something only to discover they were actually a thief?
broaden your horizons, and open your heart and mind for they might be in danger of suffocating.
