Neither one. As I approach "old age". I'm more concerned about not leaving any debts or financial problems for those that care about me that are still alive. As you get older "death" is not so scary. You prepare for it. I know it is inevitable so why be scared? I wish I could have achieved all the goals I set for myself when I was younger. I'm still working on that. It gets harder everyday but I don't give up.

I think old age is definitely a bit scarier than death itself. Both are natural phases of life and something we all have to face. I just worry about whether or not I'll be able to take care of my wife and myself, where we'll live, etc. I don't dwell on it but do think about it occassionally. I am not afraid of death. I've faced it before. I'm more afraid of how I will die. I believe in an afterlife so I believe our journey continues when we leave this body and this world.

Now that I am an old geezer of sixty, I am of the opinion that old age is more troublesome than death. As you age, you become aware of the fact that you might not always be in control of your life. Having to depend on others for even the most rudimentary things, is a frustrating, and worrisome thought. Lose your independence, and you have lost your life. I don't look forward to dying, but I just want to "live", not exist, until I do!

Old age because you have little control of your life when you become very old. Death does not frighten me because I believe in an afterlife and have memories of previous lifetimes and a strong faith and try to be a good person to others. I think if you have a clear conscience and a good relationship with your spiritual beliefs, you would not fear death.

I'm afraid of both, but I'd have to say that death is much more frightening than old age.

I think I am more afraid of getting older. I know that I will not be able to do alot of the things I do now, a person slows down alot as they age. I will enjoy the wisdom that comes with getting older, I just hope I have someone to share it with.

Old age. I'm not afraid to die, but I am scared of how much I'll suffer before I die, and physical suffering sometimes goes hand in hand with old age.

If I had to pick one I'd say old age; it's possible for all sorts of terrible things to happen when you're old which could make your existence a living hell (painful disease, poverty, loss... I'm not saying they WILL happen, just that they COULD). When you're dead you're just dead, there's no pain and no suffering, just nothingness (assuming we ignore all the made-up afterlife myths, which have no basis in fact).
I'm not actually afraid of either though.

Old age, most definitely. Unless you are a very rare person, just about everything goes to pot. Your memory, your vision, your hearing, your health, your mobility. A lot of elderly people are very depressed, and many suffer from Alzheimer's.
