Europe in general has a much more direct problem with Islam, and a detrimental liberal ideology of political correctness ingrained in their respective populations, coupled with more liberal immigration policies, and also a much closer proximity to Islamic countries via Morrocco, Algeria, and Albania, and Turkey. With illegal Islamic immigrants and legal Islamic adherents occupying more and more of Great Britain and Europe, along with the P.C. policies that will unilaterally allow Islamic "cultural practices" (anti-Western hate speech, rioting, vandalism, and the generic incitement to Jihad within local mosques) in the name of tolerance, the righteous desire and will to defend against such incompatible actions by a barbarous culture of death is being bred out of the newer generations of Europeans.

The Europeans that do recognise that their national and cultural identities are under attack by Islam know and see the threat clearly, and being in Iraq, or not, for all intents and purposes has no bearing on the outcome the Jihadi's have in mind for all the world, but does offer us the ability to fight them face to face. Iraq is the front line because we made it the front line, and it is merely a tactical advantage to pick the battlefield. Liberalism does not help Europe, it helps Islam ingrain itself as a splinter coated with poison into the West. If Liberalism continues to grow in Europe there will certainly be more and more attacks as more and more Islamic radicals gain a foothold within the political infrastructure. Take a guess at which system of law am Islamic majority would vote for given democratic elections in a Liberal country? I would wager that Sharia will be practiced in European Muslim communities that will not assimilate into Western culture...there will simply be a relocation into Europe of whole Islamic communities that simply push out the unarmed native populations...look at Sweden...majority rule after all in the true liberal democratic fashion...and as is well known, Europe is the dream gateway to America via Canada for Jihadis as Mexico is being used as the back door.

As long as there is a free West, Islamic Jihadists will attack us, and will plot, and will not stop until there is no one left to do so, or until there is a mosque on every street corner, loudspeakers blaring prayer music 5 times a day and Sharia is practiced in every state, town and village across the globe...

I suggest that those Muslim believers who do not agree with terror, and do not agree with their loudest spokespeople (terrorists), take a stand in your communities, change the direction, and stop supporting Jihadists, and teaching the children to hate and kill...otherwise, it means that you support the terrorists and are accomplices after the fact.

Fair is fair.

I hate to break it too you, but we are not fighting terrorism in Iraq, we are breeding it.

Under Saddam's regime, Al Queida had no presence in Iraq. They regarded Saddam as an apostate, an infidel and a traitor to the Islamist cause. When we took Saddam out, we created a power vacuum, combined with widespread hatred of Westerners. It was in this context that Al Queida became a force in Iraq. Al Queida as a movement are definitely stronger and better off because of the Iraq war.

Even Bush and Blair have stated that Iraq was invaded because of
a) threat of Sadam's fictional weapons of mass destruction and
b) to liberate the Iraqi people.
They have never stated that the aim was to reduce Islamic terrorism. This is just as well, since the war has done the opposite.

The only people who believe that the war in Iraq was a war against terrorism are cretinous neo-con Americans who watch Fox News. There may be some others around the world who support the war, but very few are mentally challenged to the point that they think that Iraq was an anti-terrorist action.

London and Madrid both had bombings while their respective countries had troops in Iraq. Explain to us again how having forces in Iraq kept the Spaniards and Brits from having to fight them terrorists at home?

Political platitudes are obviously for idiots like yourself. Your own argument cancels itself out. Britain is fighting them in Iraq, and the terrorist still hit them at home. You fight them everywhere and the best way to stop terrorism is through gathering intelligence and through strenuous law enforcement efforts. That coupled with a foreign policy that doesn't inspire terrorism to start in the first place.

But I thought we were fighting them in Iraq now? Have the British pulled out of Iraq yet?

That's an over simplification.

The facts aren't in yet about the motivations for the bombing, so don't start making conjectures and beating the war drum.

What if they wanted to blow something up because of the Knighting of Rushdie?

Geez. Sounds like you'd make an enemy of everyone if you could.
The British are our FRIENDS. They've stood with us through thick and thin - and they've taken a lot of heat for it in Europe.
Pick a fight elsewhere.

Iraq is not about terrorism and never was. You bought into the lies of the Bush-Luntz Administration.

I guarantee that if we don't fight in Iraq, the Sunni Insurgents and Shiite Death Squads will NOT come here! They jsut want their country back, and to kill each other. Why should WE get in the way?
