I don't know about you, but in the area where I live single people are looked down upon for some reason as if they are less human because they don't have someone.

Now I'm not saying its bad to be in a relationship: If you have found somebody and are happy then that's great and I wish the best for both you and your loved one, but why does that mean single people aren't allowed to be happy too?

Because of the way people look at singles I felt awful about the fact that I had no one for the longest time. It took me forever to realize that just because I'm not romantically involved with anyone doesn't mean that I'm not alone: and it doesn't mean I have to be unhappy.

Well, I'm still single and let me tell you, I'm a happy person. I love my life and I don't need a girlfriend to make myself happier. Who knows, maybe I will find someone in the future and if I do that's fine I'm sure she'll be a wonderful woman. But in the mean time I am single and proud of it!

..........*~*POWER TO SINGLES*~*..........

I'm recently single (by my own choice) and I have found that old couples (family friends) are always prying into my love life and they're the ones who seem to have the biggest problem with it - I put it down to the way and age they were raised in. I think the elderly have the impression that if you're single, you're sleeping around - which isn't always true.

I also find that when other couples ***** about somebody being single it's usually got to do with their own insecurities about their own relationship... I also think that people who believe that you can only be happy if you're in a relationship have some kind of emotional issues and feelings of inadequacy because they don't love themselves and therefore need the love of a relationship to make them feel adequate.

Really, there's nothing wrong with being single. Enjoy it! It's your life and if it makes you happy there is nothing wrong with it. :o)

I agree we kind of get the short end of the stick. I know I should be happy with my life but I have been single for so long I feel like I am loosing all hope and so destroyed inside. But even though that is the way I feel I still try to go out with a smile and carry on like I am happy and ok even though I am Torin up inside. I wish I could be happy about being single

Yea, Single people are looked down upon in my area too. People automatically assume that you have a partner and children. And when I tell them I don't they just get this weird look on their face. Some even want to play matchmaker. I don't let it bother me. Being single is great.
don't let it bother you what other people think!!!

I don't either. When I go into a restaurant (especially on a Friday evening), it's painfully obvious that I'm single and I always get inferior service. I've even had a waitress tell me to hurry up and finish my meal because people (couples) were expected later!

I agree. Sometimes people settle for less.
I personally have been more happy in my life alone than in some of the relationships I've been in.

Have a happy life. Enjoy your friends.

Preach it! I happen to feel the same way. I also happen to hate the fact that just because you're considered pretty or goodlooking and have a stable life that it's somehow a crime that you aren't in a relationship.
