it is fuzzy because the Google satellites haven't mapped that area. There probably isn't that big of demand around your area. Areas like New York, Los Angeles, Berlin, and such are high demand areas with a lot of people looking. They are working on getting it zoomed in for all areas but it takes a while.

Google maps uses the latest maps it can find. But, often they can be many years old and much lower resolution than current satellite images.

Sometimes, the server that has newer images is off-line, then it grabs the best image available, so just try again later.

I have contacted google about this in the past, they replied that low populated areas are shot at a lower resoulution to that of a high populated area because there arent as many people living there!

as other answers not all areas are mapped fully (especially rural areas) but also many areas are blurred out for security reasons ie to stop terrorists using the information to plan attacks.

It's because there is low demand for a clear picture in that area, I've heard that if you ask them they will improve the image.

Wait a few minutes. Sometimes it just needs a few minutes to load....especially if you have a really slow computer.
