I've been to Dominica. It's amazing how the people there have so little but stay in high spirits.
Good luck in Ethiopia!

Yes, I've been to the Philippines, Guatemala and Haiti. The poverty is saddening... but the people remain happy. It really makes you feel so blessed to live in America or any other well-off country. Try to enjoy your visit... enjoy the art and food and try to soak in the atmosphere... it will be a real eye opening experience.
Good luck.

It was fun.
There so many untouched areas and its so beautiful.
But just beware of locals some of them might try to attack you.
And bring plenty of bug spray and don't drink the water only drink bottled water and the water out of five star restaurants.
Just be careful
I went to Cozumel Island off the cost of Mexico, The Dominion Republic and Mexico

YES now i'm OCD everything has to be clean and I have to take 3 to 4 showers a day.
Don't get me wrong... my heart went out to them but for some reason it changed me to the way I am now.

no, i haven't but i think it would be both exciting and depressing. exciting because you get to go somewhere different but depressing because you see what those people are living in and some of them cant afford clothes and that would bring me down so so much. good luck.

It certainly isn't the United States if you're American. Everything you simply take for granted will be absent so be prepared.
