The way the Mariners have been playing, the A's would be lucky to get into the playoffs at all, nevermind get to the World Series...
They need more offense and their bullpen's all banged up. But I think their rotation is one of the best in the MLB. Right now they're 6 games outta the Al wild card race. We'll see if they make any moves (trades/signings) later in the season to boost their chances of making a run for the postseason.

I would be surprised that they started swinging their bats. They have the league leading ERA but their batters aren't hitting. It would also be improbable because they have already (as of today) used their disabled list 16 times and it's not even the all-star break yet. If their closer (Huston Street), Mike Piazza (DH) and Rich Harden (Starting Pitcher) get better, then it might not be so shocking. But if they keep up the way they are now, the other AL teams and the NL champs must really suck. The thing is, they have been a really consistent team, and are a relatively low budget team (cough cough, yankees).They deserve it but just have a lot of injuries.

I think that would be great because they haven't won the WS in a long time. The Athletics are a good team but for now it doesn't seem like they'll make the playoffs.

well since i live across the bay bridge from oakland. ill be watching the news to see all the turmoil and destruction the people of oakland will cause. they are bound to turn over some cars and break windows and play with fire and there will be a bunch of drunk stoned people doing stupid things wandering around the streets aimlessly.
