A lot of people , ( 33% of the voting American public ) are as loyal to Bush as a lot of French men were to Napoleon, ( only Napoleon was a better commander, I mean " decider" .
It may be short lived but I may open a bottle of Diet Dr. Pepper for the occaision and fly a flag for the first time in 6 years.,

Fred: I might vote for Ron Paul. I did not know there were any Commies left in the US, but then we have people who call themselves Nazis in Idaho so go figure.

Dumb: Actually I DON'T know what is going to happen in 08. At this time I don't think anyone does.
Isn't it interesting how many Republicans are breaking from Bush's policies and positions.?
The same-old, same-old is not going to get them elected this time, unless the GOP steals another election as they did in 2000.

FOA: Republicans had to steal the 2000 election to get Bush elected ! He is even LESS liked now and
a lot more can go wrong in the next 568 days.
President Cheney is not exactly batting 1000 these days.

AL R: I guess its a good thing he can't claim that for a legacy. It seems like he's hardly gone beyond a sand-box war, but look at what it is costing us.
I can do with fewer GREAT IMPERIAL victories.

Fluffy: I am in total agreement. It has happened to otther republics and societies and CAN happen here.
Maybe I will see you in the ' camps.
I think there is enough vigilance to stop this from happening - unless a large number of Congressem, judges, journalists and other political opponants are accidentally killed in terrorist incidents.

Well I hope there is only 568 days left of Bush and Cheney...but I would not hold my breath on that one.
War on Iran...Homeland Security Directive...Martial Law....suspension of elections.....Bushies still in power!
Hope I am wrong but it is starting to look just that way to me and some very sharp political analysts....we can only hope this will not happen.

LOL, is there any correlation between freedom and Diet Dr. Pepper? I will admit it makes me hyper like a child when I drink it.
In all seriousness I do think it's going to take a great deal of repair to get us where we need to be once Bush is gone, but we have so far to go things might not get better for a long time. I think it's going to take much more than one term to organize the American public so they feel safe and unthreatened.
Also there are outside factors Bush and any future president cannot control which is the sick mind control terrorists have on the people they train. Yes friendly relations might help, but there is little one can do to control mental illness and if these people are as sick as they seem to be, no president is going to help us.

At intersections where trains and auto meet, the trains have the right o way...for a reason.
The momentum of what this office has began will reach into the next two or three presidency's, no mater what or who gets elected....
Americans can not stay in the 20th century, any more than China could have stayed in the 19th, or the Arabia's stay in the 17th... the world is changing..we keep up, or eat the dust of quicker nations..it's that simple.

And we will just elect a new pair of lying fools who will set their own agendas and work for big business to make money.
The Bush's were not even good at hiding the fact that they were inept - and we voted them in TWICE!
Why is it the American people can vote for "important" things like the next american idol but changes in American policy have to be decided by our elected officials? - just something to think about.

Yes. Cheney-Bush 08! :))
Will it be a turn for the better? It depends on your point of view and somewhat on who is elected. So, you will be popping open a Diet DP and flying a flag if a Republican is elected?
I don't celebrate on election night. I save it all for new years. :P
