I am currently housing 18 aquatic turtles, 11 box turtles , and two tortoise'. ALL of mine love fruit!!!! Just remember that fruit is meant to be a treat and not a daily part of their diet. You should try bananas, peaches and strawberries as well, and a couple of mine go nuts for tomatoes.

Knowing the species would help. Most turtles should not have fruit- they cannot digest it well, and do not gain much nourishment from it.
After all, where would most turtles get cantaloupe or other fruits in the wild? If they cannot get it in the wild, they generally don't need it and should not have it.
If it is a Red-ear Slider or related species, the babies don't eat much veggies- almost all meats, insects, etc- lots of protein for smooth, quick growth.

You should offer fruits like cantaloupe and apples. But make sure that you chop it up good or even leave the cataloupe on the rine as long as you wash it really good (dont use soap) It is likely that the baby wont eat it but it should still be offered. There is nothing wrong with feeding them cantaloupe.
Diet should be 25%commercial (pellets sticks etc) 25% meat (cooked chicken, crickets, feeder fish, etc.) 50% fruits and veggies (squash, collard greens, mustard greens, dandelion greens, thawed frozen veggies etc.) You dont want to feed a lot of fruit, only as an occasional treat because fruits are high in natural sugars and too much can make them sick. So just as a treat. My turts love cantaloupe including my 2 incher. So go for it.

Red Ear babies need meat and veggies, not fruit. It'll give them the runs. YOu dont say what kind of turtle you have, are they red ears? boxies? torts? woodies? there's alot of species out there, depends on what you got.

maybe.. it depends on its diet.. if you feed it turtle food it might not like it...if you feed it lettuce, carrots, etc then it might eat it.
