We are driving straight thru to Mammoth Lakes. Mapquest tells us to take 10/215/15/395. I have been on the 395 before but always pick it up outside of Mojave. Anyone know how the 395 is from the 15 to where it intersects the 14?

The 395 from the 15 to where is connects to the 14 is the same as the balance of it. If you closed your eyes and I dropped you on it, you couldn't tell the difference. Well maybe just more desert but that is it.

However that is not the route I would take. I would take the 93 to Las Vegas and then head up the 95. I would cut across the 266 to the 168, then hook up with the 395 to Mammoth. It's a much shorter route and just as good of a highway. I have driven this route from Mammoth to Las Vegas before, there isn't a lot to see, but you will get there much sooner. Don't worry there are plenty of service stations along the way, and if you break down, you are no worse off then if you do so on the 395.

Oh...Mojave isn't on the 395, it's about 40 miles away.
