Horses have 44 teeth. But several lizards and crocodiles outnumber mammalian 44.

Reptiles usually have more teeth as they are carnivores(mat-eaters)and need the extra teeth for ripping meat,while mammals can be omnivores,carnivores,or herbivores.

I think tah mammals do. Most reptiles don't relly chew their food. All they do is rip and swallow. so i guesse they don't really need that much teeth.
