A relative was employed by a firm dealing with environmental problems. He had to dive in and take samples filthy toxic sediments from the bottom of badly polluted rivers. The company provided him with a protective suit but he is a good swimmer and preferred to dive fast without protection, counting on his ability to get the sample quickly and return to the surface and shower off.

I once worked for Der Wienershnitzel. Could hardly believe what I saw. Maggots crawling over discarded rag soaked with bloody drippings from the table where the hamburger beef was prepared. Also heard stories from a friend who worked in a Texas McDonald's. I now stay well away from all fast food places. working in one of them has to be the pits among jobs.

I beg to differ. I work in a Resturant, and I spend about 16 hours a day in a kitchen, and I still eat out at other resturants. I enjoy a well cooked meal, and even if you have seen somethings at a resturant that you have worked at, you probly know that some people tend to over exagerate the circumstances.

As for the worst job, I use to work in a carpet mill, where we did yarn extrusion. You stand on your feet for 12 hours a day in a 10x10 foot area, stick you arms and hands into machines that spin at 6500 RPMs and are about 200 C. You would leave the factory smelling like burnt resin, and the machines put off so much noise it was somewhere near 145 Decibles, and you had to wear ear plugs the entire time. It was so bad we had to get 3 hearing tests done a year to make sure our hearing wasnt going bad too fast. I use to pull almost 70-80 hours a week. Rough work, and 90% of the people working there have bad burns, cuts, and horrible storys.

I've worked at a couple of fast food places while I was in high school and they were not bad at all.

The worst job I've had was installing cable. It was easy when the houses were brand new and already wired for cable TV, but when they are old and you have to run the lines in the attic or under the house or around the house takes a lot of time and it's hot and you are cramped in small spaces that has rats or other small animals, not to mention all the spiders. My hair was like a rats nest every day when I got home from work.

my worst job was driving for weyerhauser in florida. the manager there picked my route for me and he usually gave me the one with the fewest miles , and so no matter how well i did the job i ended up with the lowest check since the pay was on a per mile basis. everytime i see a job anywhere resembling that, where i am at the mercy of somebody else picking the job i will be assigned, i m very wary and test the waters for only so long before i walk out.

Working in a restaurant will make you never want to eat in one again, but the worst job to me is one you can't stand, whatever it is.
