the system was probably shut down improperly by unplugging or power failure or shut oof at the switch. This is a normal for xp to run the scan disk an put the files left over in the system on shut down in the proper places for the restart.i would not worry about it.

NTFS is the type of file allocation table format your drive is using, its like an address book of where all the data is stored on the drive. NTFS is what all large drives use in windows.
Did your computer crash? some data was damaged or misplaced but windows has fixed it.

This could be a sign of an imminent drive failure. Back up all your data, preferably using a disk image on an external hard drive. (Acronis is good software). Then, if you have a spare hard drive, unplug your current hard drive, restore the backup image from the external HD to the spare HD. Try to boot. If it gives you the same error, I would just let it run and forget about it.

It was probably just cleaning up old or redundant files, I wouldn't have thought it was anything to worry about; but back up any valuable data just in case.

The weak spot of FAT32 is max record length help is below 4Gigs, on any incorrect way NTFS can help greater desirable than 4GB unmarried records. NTFS additionally help compress force, so little doubt NTFS is greater efficient than FAT32.
