Contrary to popular belief, pre-ejaculate fluid very rarely contain live, active sperm. So long as the male has urinated since his last ejaculation, there is a very small chance that there are still live sperm cells hanging out in his urethra (which is where any sperm cell that could be alive would be, since no sperm is released with the pre-ejaculate fluid).

However, this does not mean that the withdrawal or "pull-out" method is a reliable form of birth control. With typical use, and it being the only method used, it is only 73% effective at preventing unwanted pregnancies and used alone it is 0% effective at protecting against STDs. The condom is 85% effective at preventing unwanted pregnancies, and the birth control pill is about 98% effective. With lucky and experienced couples, the withdrawal method can be as effective as 96% at preventing unwanted pregnancies.

It is not recommended that the withdrawal method be the primary method of birth control in a relationship because it is so unreliable, but would be a good option in addition to another method such as condoms or a hormonal birth control.

The pull out method is not the best way to prevent pregnancy. You should wear a condom because pre-c** still has semen in it and pregnancy is a risk. However, I used the pull out method for months before I got birth control and never got pregnant. If you use this method, make sure he pulls out before he ejactulates and not a moment later. That nanosecond he booms inside of you could put a bun in the over. I highly suggest getting a birth control or using condoms just to be safer. And plus, that method doesnt protect against STDs.

My boyfriend and I have used the withdrawl method for almost 2yrs now and I haven't gotten pregnant. BUT that does not mean it is safe. Its not a good method of birth control. Precum contains sperm which can impregnant a female and if you do not want to conceive, then use other forms of contraceptive as well. If you want to use the withdrawl method, then I would suggest you use vaginal contraceptive film with it, which is a spermicide or maybe birth control as well. Its not a safe method if you do not want to concieve.

No. Before the penis is withdrawn it may release some semen which may lead to pregnancy. But more important, withdraw method implies you are not using another form of birth control that helps prevent the transfer of STDs.

No! Not only are you putting 100% of your trust into the guy to actually do it, but there is a GREAT possibility that some of those little suckers will get out before he pulls out. Don't trust it!

Some people may tell you it does, but it does NOT!
Don't use it.
Either use condoms or don't have sex at all! Abstinence is the real contraception.

Not at all. The minute there's male arousal, there's moisture, and that moisture contains sperm. Withdrawing before ejaculation doesn't mean a thing.

No, not at all. Use a condom and withdrawal for good results.

No!!!!

Even the little drop of "pre-***" that happens long before "the main event" contains millions of sperm.
