I'm confused...if someone has an RBI of say 20 does that mean b/c they hit the ball 20 people ran across home plate and scored or what. ;-) Also what does AB, R, H, BB, SO, and SB mean? Sorry I was looking at some players stats and I have no idea what they mean!!!

Rather than simply give you what the acronym means I will tell you what they mean.
RBI is a run batted in (a player is on base and the hitter drives him home and he scores a run)
AB=At Bat this is when a player makes an apperence at the plate and the result is something other than a walk (walks do not count as at bats)
R=Run when a player scores in the example earlier of the RBI the player that crosses home plate is credited with a run
H= Hit a batter gets a basehit (reaches base by making contact with the ball and reaches base with out a fielding error)
BB= Base on Balls also known as a walk this occurs when a pitcher throws 4 pitches outside of the strikezone to one batter.
SB=Stolen Base a player runs from one base to another with out the ball being put into play by the batter and reaches without being called out.

If someone has 20 RBI that means they have gotten 20 people across home plate. That could include themselves if they hit a Home Run(HR). Of course there are ways to get RBI that don't count as an At Bat:
If a guy is on third and the batter hits a fly ball to the outfield, the runner tags and scores, then the batter gets and RBI, but the at bat doesn't count as an at bat because he sacrificed himself to get the runner home.

RBI is "Runs Batted In" in which the hitter gets credit if a run scores as a result of his hit. AB is "At Bat", R is "Runs Scored" H is "Hit" BB is "Base on Balls" or it could be called a Walk, and SO is "Strike Out". All of these abbreviations are use when scoring a game.

You dont have to get a hit to get an RBI, though. For instance, if there's a runner on third and less than two out, and the batter hits a fly ball to the outfield, it's possible for the runner to score.

rbi stands for runs batted in. in simplest form, how many people scored due to the contact the person made on the at bat.
AB=at bats
R=runs the player scored
BB=walks they have recieved
SO=strikeouts
SB=stolen bases

rbi is runs batted in so say player one hits a triple and there a guy on frist and the man on frist score then the batter batted in 1 man so one RBI

That's exactly what RBI means, more or less. It's how many runs they've driven in from the plate.
AB- how many times they've batter
R- how many times they've scored
H- how many hits they've gotten
BB- how many times they've walked
SO- how many times they've struck out
SB- how many bases they've stolen
