broken one of the keys on my laptop. Its a compaq. i still have the key and two little black things (one is larger than the other) that i assumes creates the spring effect or something. is there anyway i can fix it???

ok so one of the keys are broken, ive worked out that it can be fixed, i just need to get the litte black bits black in place but how to they sit in place?? i cant work it out!!

If the parts are broken, NO you can't.

Contact Compaq and ask about getting a keyboard replacement.

If they are not broken, then look at how they can go together . . . most likely though is that the 2 small bits are what should stop key falling of, hence are broken

like above said, it can be fixed very easy and i have done this numerous times... The 2 little black pieces do create a spring effect. The easiest way to fix them is to connect the 2 little black things and snap them back on to the keyboard. Make them lay flat. Then press the key on top of them and it should snap back together. Its a frustrating process but if you play with it, it will work and be just like new again

yes i fixed mine myself i ordered another key and replaced it. The key only cost £2.99 and free to fit.
