We will have about a dozen folks at a mini family reunion. We were thinking of doing a tour of the strip and downtown. Already have some quotes, but am looking for experiences with this, good, bad or otherwise. Thanks in advance!

Having worked in the LV travel industry for some years now, I've heard many a story on these luxury vehicles, as well as having had my own experiences. Here are a few things to consider to help make your experience more enjoyable:

-Consider the size of the people in your group and choose your vehicle appropriately. If the stats say it fits 12-15, that basically means 12 average-sized people or 15 ultra-petite people can squeeze in elbow to elbow. If you have 9 average-sized people and 3 football players, you'll want a bigger vehicle.

-It is illegal for the driver to stop on Las Vegas Blvd (aka the Strip) and let you all out. So if you want to stop at say the Bellagio to view the fountains, your driver will have to pull into the hotel, unload you near valet, and wait for you while you walk from there. Keep this in mind when considering how much time you book. The loading and unloading times will add up quickly if you're not intending to stay in the vehicle. (And there's not much point going downtown unless you intend to get out of the car. Fremont Street is pedestrian traffic only so you cannot drive up and down it taking in the sights.)

-As much as the stretch hummers have that nifty look-at-me star-quality, many people find the party buses to be far more comfortable because you can actually stand up and move around in them, like a mini nightclub on wheels. Of course they're all decked out with sound system, video, disco lighting, etc on the inside... but they don't look like much on the outside.

-Above all, make sure the driver has your cell phone number and an alternate contact number as well (preferably the cell of someone else in your group)--and phone your limo company the day of your service to ask them who your driver will be and the best way to contact him if you need to. It is ridiculously common for the driver to spend 20 minutes waiting at the North valet while you and your buddies are patiently waiting at the South valet.

If you account for these common complaints in advance, you'll have a spectacular time!
