I enjoy Rush's show immensely, however I do not believe he is a driving force in policy changes. Rush has stated time and time again that it's not his job to influence governmental policy, but to sell advertising. If his listening audience happens to get fired up about an issue he's discussed and decides to call some Representatives about it, so be it. Rush is merely an able enabler.

How many people high in our government actually listen to Rusty Limbaugh? I doubt most have time. If per chance, any of them do what would it say about the politicians in Wahington that it is some big mouth hate mongering talk show host that makes policy? That would be pretty lame wouldn't it. Actually the only ones affected by Rush's rangings are a handfull of non-thinking idiots who can be lead by the nose wherever Rush wants to take them.
So to make it simple for you to understand (it has to be simplified for YOU), If Rush has such power the government is weak in its own right.

Actually if the present administration had taken Rush's advice it wouldn't be in the situation that it is in now. The problem is this administration is not even conservative anymore its gone off on its on tangent its too wishy washy except when it comes to defending the country and the abortion issue.. the rest is constant compromise. I am seriously displeased with it. (once I was a Dem, then changed to Republican, I think I am registering as an independent this year).

The I in E.I.B. does not and has never stood for influential. He is like actors and movie stars that want to be more than just that. They want to be taken seriously on some subject. Limbaugh started out on his show poking fun and different political views. He was in effect a radio political commenter/comedian. He wants to be taken more seriously and has tried in vain, but most people don't listen to Barbara Streisand about politics and more than Rus.

"does he make your blood boil???? GOOD!!"
Why is that good? Do you want the divisiveness he helps perpetuate to continue? Do you really think it's good for this country? The day Clinton became president in 1993 Limbaugh began his program with "America held hostage", likening the Clinton presidency to a hostage siege. He never even gave the new president a chance. He didn't wait for Clinton to do something he didn't like before hammering him. And he hasn't changed. How is that good for the country?

I'm about as conservative as they get, and I'm surprised people actually listen to Rush. I can't say I know anyone who does.
But no, Rush is not influential at all. He only talks. Thats all he does. There's an issue, his fat head begins talking about it until his time is up. Thats it.

and here you go folks.
we see here people who's stances on issues are not based on empirical evidence or even convictions of belief.
no.
most of today's radical cons (like limbaugh) do what they do and say what they say and VOTE the way they vote - all just to piss off liberals.
that's it.
for any looking for any deeper meaning, you are bound to be disappointed.
radical cons believe what they believe for spite only.
