There is no peace in the world, because the "powers that be" don't profit from peace. Just think of the industries and money that would be lost to those countries if the world had peace.
Oppression and forcing their beliefs and life-style on the rest of the world is simply worth to much money to capatilist regimes.
When the western powers control all of the world's resources and have political clout in every country on the planet. Then maybe....., but even then, doubtful.

If they stop bashing planes into our skyscrapers, strapping lethal shrapnel filled bombs to their chests, slaughtering innocent people for a demented ideology of hatred and domination, paying out ransoms to mass murderers, getting hell bent on converting or killing all who disagree with their beliefs and generally demonstrating their blood lust on a daily basis - it would be a great leap forward for peace.
They don't want our "tanks and warplanes in their country" - then they must defeat the terrorists and thugs and get their demented tactics of terror and murder the hell out of other countries.
Simple as that.

Judging from your response to "pouchie", I think you've answered your own question. It's ironic. You and your people are your own worst problem.
And no, the 21st century does not belong to muslims. Sorry.

you guys were extreme war mongers before the US was ever even thought of, also before the west you describe existed. all through history you have been the problem, not the victim. I assume you are a Muslim from the middle east or a sympathizer.

Well let me put it like this. If the terrorists gave up tomorrow, do you think the U.S. would go out and start killing people? The answer is most certainly "no."

We don't just want peace, we want security as well. We want to be safe from crazy thinking Islamic Extremists like you. We never went and blew up a government building just to kill innocents. You're people do on a daily basis.
