Breastfed babies under 6 months do not require any supplementation with water as long as they are nursed on demand. This is even true in very hot weather. In addition,
"Formula fed babies do not routinely need extra water. Some sources do suggest offering water to a formula fed baby when it is very hot outside (though baby may prefer to get extra water from more frequent feeding), or when baby is sick with a fever (consult baby's doctor for guidelines)." (quoted from Kellymom.com)
The risks of water supplementation are (also quoted from Kellymom.com):
For newborns (especially under 4-5 weeks)
* Water supplements are associated with increased bilirubin levels in jaundiced newborns.
* Too much water can lead to a serious condition called oral water intoxication.
* Water supplements fill baby up without adding calories, so water supplements can result in weight loss (or insufficient weight gain) for the baby.
* Babies who get water supplements are less interested in nursing. If baby is not nursing as often as he should, it will take longer for mom's milk to come in and can delay or prevent mom from establishing an optimum milk supply.
Over the age of 6 months:
* Too much water can interfere with breastfeeding because it fills baby up so that he nurses less. Babies need the nutrition and calories in breastmilk to grow - water has none of these.
* Breastmilk has all the water your baby needs, even in very hot weather.
* When your 4-6 month old baby is learning to use a cup, giving him a few sips of water a couple of times a day (no more than 2 ounces per 24 hours) is fine and fun.
* Once baby starts solids, you might want to give him a few sips of expressed milk or water with his solids - some babies need this to prevent constipation.

They can have cooled boiled water, but if its a baby that is not taking solids yet, water is not advised as it will fill up their stomach leaving no room for their milk. Babies get their essential nutrients from milk.
A baby on breast or formula milk will get all the liquid they need from that and won't need extra water.
A small amount of cooled boiled water can be given to babies who have started solids (6 months +) with their meals.
But tbh Breastmilk is much better nutritionally and provides all the water they need.

Babies under 6 months are at risk of water intoxication which can cause swelling of the brain. This completely unknown hazard prior to the popularization of commercial formula is often caused when parents who don't have enough money for formula, stretch it by adding more and more water causing an electrolyte imbalance. At the same time, baby isn't getting enough nutrients.

I guess it depends on where you live. Here doctors actually recommend giving a little cooled boiled water (about 100 g a day) with a bit of sugar dissolved in it (about five percent). It should not be too much, though and definitely not before the baby is about to eat.
I'm European.

You need to be more specific. If you're talking about an infant not on solids yet, it's because they get enough fluid from the formula or breastmilk, and more fluid will just thin out their blood and cause blood pressure problems that will make them sick.
For an infant on solids, it's alright to give just a little to make up for the fluid they're not getting for that meal.

Now everyone can cure infertility using this natural remedy http://pregnancyhelps.info
infertility can run in the family and one of the first things the doctor asks you when you go to a fertility clinic is your family history regarding cases of infertility or other reproductive issues.
If infertility is caused by genetic disorder then it's not unusual that one of the kids (your mom) doesn't have it and another does (your aunt).
two months of trying is still to early to be concerned about the fact that you might be infertile and it's also quite early to go to a fertility specialist. Go to a regular Obgyb to get a closer insight and see what ways there are are to improve your fertility rate.
Also remove alcohol, caffeine and cigarettes from your life because they might influence your chances too. Stress is also a risk factor when it comes to infertility.

because if they are formula feed then you are mixing the formula with water everyday, therefore they get water with their milk every feeding. Too much water can cause dehydration.
If you breatfeed ask your Dr when your baby can have water.
Water is also too thin and can get the baby choked. So there is a recommmended age for giving babies water.

I never heard such rubbish! We have been giving water to infants since the dawn of time. Water is good for the baby,to get rid of hiccup's, cleanse the babies forming system. My daughter in law is a first time mother and she is listening to this crap. I changed the baby's diaper, wow! his urine was so rank and yellow. they should have water.
