Do all Americans think the same? You could ask 1,000 different people and get 1,000 different answers. Americans are no more single-brained than people of any other society. That said, there are cultural biases to consider. The notion I find most prevalent is that Asians are smarter than whites because kids of Asian descent tend to do well in school. That is simplistic, however, and does not take into consideration parental expectations or exceptions to the perceptions.

They are all different...and some of them get mad when call you them the wrong thing. I know the guy that used to do my nails (not being funny, he really did do my nails) was vietnamese and he hated when I called him chinese. Most americans look at asians as "smart" though...It's like the asian stereotype...but when you aren't constantly around asian people, then since they all have similar characteristics, it's hard to tell them apart from just appearance.

I think people here are getting more able to differentiate between the different Asian cultures now in the new millenium.

Agree with stoneinthestream - - But can we just remove all the hyphenated names? Where do we start?
