Colin Powell was pressured into doing what he did. I lost alot of respect for him after that. America lied to the world because if we stated our true intentions and desires to invade Iraq it would never be allowed.

I saw an interview with Colin Powell recently and believe he was deceived, manipulated and pressured into saying the things he did. He is honestly regretful and shaken to the core by this situation. The Bushies took a good honorable man and made him betray himself and his country. I don't think he will ever be the same. He is one of the tragic causalities of this basely and deceitful war. My heart goes out to him and all others who have been so harmed by this greedy quest for oil and power.

Colin Powell was pressured into lying to the security council. And our president doesn't really seem to care what the rest of the world thinks. That was perfectly summed up with his quote "this foreign policy stuff is frustrating".

Colin Powell was hired at the pleasure of the President. His job was to support his boss and the line his boss wanted him to say. Bush, Cheney, Ashcroft, Rumsfeld, and Rove wanted the war with Iraq. Even before 2000 Dubya indicated his desire to take out Saddam Hussein and so it wouldn't take much of an excuse to validate warring with Saddam in Bush's mind.
George W. Bush In discussing the threat posed by Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, Bush said: "After all, this is the guy who tried to kill my dad."

To start a Global American Empire, to control the currency of the world for the oil. Look up: Project For A New American Century, the road map, for false flag operation 0n 911, the new Pearl Harbor. Look who benefits, who profits who makes gains.

Nobody lied. The evidence supported the fact that Iraq had WMD. The fact that Iraq prevented UN weapons inspectors from doing their jobs also raised suspicions. After 9/11, the risk of having a country with links to Islamic terrorist groups develope WMD was not something that any US president could allow. As a matter of fact, there was cross party support for the war initially.
The claim that the US administration lied to go to war in Iraq belongs in the same category as the claim that the Bush administration was responsible for 9/11 in order to start the war. It is a myth. I am sorry if this offends you, but facts are facts.

Powell's extreme loyalty to the honor code he was taught to follow in the military was manipulated. I truly believe that he was kept in the dark and was eventually driven from his post because his conscience wouldn't allow him to keep quiet after he realized that he was given false data to show off at the UN.
