Well as a mechanic I find it frustrating.....The metric system would be easier if it was worldwide including America, especially in the mechanic field.

The system of inches, feet, and yards used in America is really hard to remember, because it isn't based on ten's, like the metric system. We should have switched to the metric system a long time ago!

I'm used to the "inch" system, but I wish we used metric in the US like every other part of the world!

Metric makes more sense, but I've grown up with the inches and stuff, so it'd take a little time to learn everything in metric.

Metric is better as unit of measure conversions are very simple (e.g. 1 liter of water = 1000 cm3 and weighs 1 kg). Some countries (e.g. in Europe and South America) have their own "metric" imperial units, e.g. where 1 "metric" lb = 1/2 kg = 500 grams, which are convenient for everyday measurements (such as cooking, etc). The best of both worlds.
Imperial units of measure are highly obsolescent. Eventually the US will join metric as it globalizes further.

I am more used to the "inch" system, but the metric system is easier to use.

I like the 'inch' system better because it's what I grew up with and what I understand, however, I think the US should move to the metric system because the whole stinkin' world uses it, and it's ridiculous that we don't.

Well, here's the deal: We in the United States as well as ONE - yes - only one third world nation called Liberia are the only ones in the entire world who are left on the old imperial system. The rest of the world is in fact metric and has been so for many years. As for my preference, it's metric - simply because it's easy and makes perfect sense.
Think about it: 100 cm = 1 m / 1000m = 1 km etc....... Now here's our nonsense: 12 inches = 1 ft / 3 ft = 1 yard / 1760 yards = 1 mile?????!!!!!!!!??????? How about temperatures....... 32 degrees Fahrenheit = Freezing?????? How about the logical Zero Celsius = Freezing and 100 Celsius = Boiling instead of 212 Fahrenheit....... The same applies for weight: 1000 kg = 1 metric ton instead of 1 long ton being 2240 pounds..........

metric of course .the conversion between metric is way faster and simpler then inches which causes a whole lot of complications and possibly mistakes in the process
