America is ready for a black OR a woman president, but not really for a Hillary Clinton president.
Mostly, though, I think the Republicans are going to have a hard time winning this year. Or, maybe I should say that it's the Democrats' race to lose. However, Democrats are good at losing the unloseable. There's no way that Bush should have been re-elected in 2004 based on the mood of the country, but Democrats went and nominated the most extreme and unelectable candidate, then tried to sell him as a sensible moderate. Howard Dean would have been immensely better. Or anyone who was more moderate. Kerry was FAR to the left of Howard Dean, but it's amazing how things get twisted.
Hillary is a big-government wacko. Obama is probably more electable, because he doesn't have the big negatives, but I'm not sure if he'll come off as a superstar either. We'll just have to wait and see.

I'm from the south, and I don't think that the south is ready for either. I'm not saying that I am not, or that many others here are not, but there are so many close-minded rednecks here. As soon as either one got elected there would be so much griping. I would love it. I would be curious to see how America would change with a black president, but kind of scared as well. I would not want a racist as president. Condaleeza Rice would probably be good, as long as she isn't like Bush.

I think America is definitely ready for a Black or a Woman to be President! It just has to be the right Black or Woman!

I am a white republican and I have no issue with Hillary being a woman or Borack being black.
I want the best leader, but now I am completely at a loss as to whom to vote for for either side . Illegal immigration is a bigger thereat to me than the war issue is. As far as the best person for the job ,I don't know but i will not let those points change my vote for someone who sends me the right message .

We are ready, but the Barack and Hillary would be terrible choices for President. The only man who can save this country is Ron Paul.
