It sounds like it's overheating, very serious.
Take it in for repair, it may be under warranty.

try this: right click on your background and go to "properties." then click the "screen saver" tab. now click "power" at the bottom. within this menu you can change setting having to deal with your power such as hibernation, and other. most laptops are set to turn hard disks off or go into hibernation after 20 min. so this is why i think this will solve your problem. good luck!

I think it's a setting in the power options that you should change. It's in the control panel. You'll probably see two sets of options: one for battery power and one for wall power. Change the ones for wall power.

possible overheating
not getting power on ac adapter
check to make sure the fans are running
and that there is not running on battery power when plugged into ac adapter if it is not getting any power on ac possible bad connection on the motherboard or the ac adaptor is bad.
