You listed the singers that made the songs famous. I know that Paul Anka wrote the song My Way for Frank. and I also know that a singer/songwriter names Scott English released a version of Mandy a few years before Barry Manilow did, but it was called Brandy. I know many many people have covered Somewhere over the Rainbow, including Jimi Hendrix. (wow ). I don't think Tony Bennett actually wrote San Francisco, but it is most definitely his signature song.
