Actually, I just posted a blog entry relative to this question. It's an excerpt from a book by Glenn Greenwald entitled,"A Tragic Legacy: How a Good vs. Evil Mentality Destroyed the Bush Presidency."

You should check it out. What's interesting is that the author doesn't so much bash Bush as explain the "logic" behind what he does, and I'm telling you, the writing is sound.

It might give some people a fresh perspective on how Bush may actually think...

I think that an American can be both. Inspired by Christian faith and an American well-grounded in Constitutional law.

Jesus is an excellent philosopher, although I tend to avoid using the Bible, personally, to argue philosophy, unless some liberal is baiting me. And then, only carefully. I don't think Jesus speaks the same way to everyone. And not even the same person will get the same thing every time they read His words.

And here's a verse, but I don't know the reference, and it is from memory: "Be wiser than serpents and harmless as doves."

But to answer your question, I don't think we can make an educated statement about George Bush's personal spirituality. It makes us eye pokers and that can leave us blind.

Oh no he only found God when it became politically relevant for him to be a born again Christian. For some reason in America some people actually take into account ones religious beliefs in regards to who they are going to vote.

The policies of George W Bush are not inspired by any holy deity, perhaps the devil himself, but definately not God.

I look upon Bush and the other Republicans in the same way that Christ looked upon pharisees in Matthew 23. He said that everything they did was for others to see. He cautioned against boasting about one's religious faith in Matthew 6, and that it scored no points with God. So while I would like a spirtual person, I would prefer a person who quietly works instead of boasting about how good and holy and noble he (or she) is.

It is certain that they are. The far reaching effects of his policies can even be felt in Iran, the same Iran that was our friend back in the days of the Shah(1970's). Now, Iran is again an adversary and we have helped cause a situation in Iran that is terrible. Iranians, living in the richest oil producing regoins on this planet, are now having to buy bootlegged fuel because it is rationed in their. country. What kind of a country are we, that we cause another country to suffer and to disable its ability to even provide its own people with necessities? I think this is one reason people hate us AMericans. We move in and we make terrible guests after establishing ourselves as "wonderful", we turn into the guest that stays a bit too long, complains a bit too much, and all too soon has overstayed their welcome. Is this not accurate or am I mistaken? Tell me please.

Bush is an idiot....Jesus his favorite political philosopher? that sentence does not even make sense. Can he even form an intelligent sentence? And just because he believes in Jesus does not mean he has "deep Christian faith"....remember, the devil believes in Jesus as well.

Christianity and politics do not mix. Jesus Christ said : -

"Render to Ceasar the things of Ceaser and the things of God to God"
