No. The US was founded by men of Judeo-Christian ethos and our laws were based on the English Common Law. The English Common Law came out of the Ecclesiastical Courts, when England (and most of the world) was ruled by Church/goverment marriages.

Our forefathers wanted the common law for interpreting law but did not want the church/government marriage. And they wanted clear separation of powers. I think they did a great job and I wish today's Americans would stop tinkering with the US Constitution. And I wish we would all get more educated on our rights under that US Constitution.

Particularly us Christians, who I think allow modern liberals to bait us into arguing the Bible. Our rights as Christians come from the Constitution, not the Bible.

I doubt it...don't think most are even aware of the word"Christean".

At the same time, if in fact they founded it on Christian principals it didn't STOP them from importing Africans
(read 100% free labor) in order to get rich did it?

or is it REALLY true that the bible endorses slavery?

No, but it was founded on Christian principles. Founding it as a "Christian nation" would have violated the constitution the founding fathers had just written. They were smarter than that.

It was founded primarily by Christians with a tolerance for other religions. They had been persecuted for their religion in their countries of origin and did not want anyone to be persecuted for their religion here. They did not intent for this to be a GODLESS country, but one where you could worship without restraint.

no, many of the colonies took religion as one of the factors in thier laws and beliefs, but other colonies took in those who were cast out by the monotheotic colonies and supported religious freedoms.
all agreed to up hold the first amendment and calling us a christian nation is going against that first amendment because that would mean we were showing favor to one religion over another.

YES
They believed you should not FORCE a certain religion on the people but you should not take away their right to practice faith in public either.

Notice our MONEY and early documents...they all have references to GOD on them.
