...considering that Texas is a right to work state?

Right to Work applies to Unions and being blocked from jobs by contracts signed by others. I have never heard of a contract signed by an individual requiring that individual to not compete within a certain area or for a certain time to be blocked in Texas. I would expect an unlimited non-compete to be questioned by the courts if challenged.
