Wait the 6 weeks - your body needs that time to finish adjusting to not being pregnant (i.e. the bleeding). I think you can walk slowly, but not more than 30 min probably. I don't know about the swimming though. You should call your doc and talk to them or a nurse about all this, since everyone's case is different.

I felt normal again after about 10 weeks, if that helps.

For sex--wait the entire 6 weeks. Even if you think you're ready, your body just went through major trauma. You're nearly half-way there!!

As for working out/swimming--wait until 6 weeks as well. You need to wait until your postpartum check up. I had the same feelings, but my doctor forced me to wait until I went to the 6 month check up. You need to give your body and stitched time to heal.

As for crunches--you won't be able to do those for a few more months. I'm surprised you are even wanting to. Your stitches are relatively new still, even if you feel like you can take on the world.

Besides, your baby is going to be taking ALL of your energy right now. You need to spend your energy on your baby and recovery, not getting your body back.

These are questions you really should have asked your doctor.

A C-section is major surgery. You may look healed on the outside, but rest assured you are not healed on the inside. If you start doing things too soon, you risk building up a thick line of scar tissue, or doing more damage to yourself in which case it will take you even longer to recover.

Always call and ask your doctor first.

Why are so anxious to do all this things???? WAIT!!!!If not YOUR going to hurt yourself. Enjoy that precious little precious bundle of joy. You have to wait until you see your doctor. And yes you have to wait to have sex. I had 2 c-sections and my last one was 5 months ago and i cant do a lot of the exercise because my wound has not completely heal. So wait until you see your doctor to see what he/she said. OK. Just take it easy.

A C Section is considered major surgery, and you need to allow yourself time to get better.
I understand you're a high energy exercise kinda gal and I sympathize. You may want to exercise, but your body needs all of your energy to repair itself. It's TV and the couch for you, girl.

you should call your Dr's office for this info. They probably gave you instructions when you left the hospital look at them and see if it said anything.
